Workshop Description

With Septembers workshop we will cover topics with a focus on autumn tasks.

Our first topic will be season extension, including a tour of our hoop house, as well as some of our late season beds. We will demonstrate a variety of winter friendly crops both indoors  and outside. Participants will also get to see how we create, and maintain low tunnels to give us harvest into December.

Following our season extension, we will move into garlic and shallot beds where we will demonstrate and discuss when and how to get your garlic and shallot beds prepped and planted for the following season.

Staying in line with our garden focus, we will will tour the gardens where we will view winter prepped areas and discuss a variety of methods used at the farm to protect the soil from erosion, provide habitat for beneficial insects during our cold months, AND make spring prep a little easier.

To finish the day, we will learn some more about seed processing, and spend some time saving some of the last of the seed crops for 2023.

This months workshop is 3 hrs.
